Case study
The problem
Organising a batch reunion through WhatsApp groups scatters the date, venue, bookings and photos. The committee needed one place where everyone could find the details, book a seat and share memories.
Project objectives
- Put every event detail on one page: date, venue, entrance fee and dress code
- Let batchmates book a seat online and check its status with a booking number
- Collect school memories from everyone, in English or Sinhala
Engineering approach
Built as a fast static site with plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, animated with GSAP ScrollTrigger and Lenis smooth scrolling. Firebase Firestore stores seat bookings and memory-wall posts so new memories appear for everyone in real time, and Firebase Authentication lets batchmates sign in to get a verified tick on their posts while guests can still post.
